Overview:

Tim will guide you through the safe use of cutters, whilst making your printing block. The design is achieved by cutting away the surface of the lino for a linocut, and a vinyl floor tile for an engraving. Ink is then rolled onto the block’s surface ready for printing onto a variety of papers and inks. A collagraph print is the opposite, in as much as the surface of the plate is built up, and textures can be added to form the design ready for printing.
