Emily Dawkins
Emily grew up in The New Forest and moved to Pembrokeshire in 2022 after 5 years living on a canal boat. With a love of nature and the outdoors at the fore-front of her work, she takes inspiration from the coastal environment and her own back garden, where she grows and dries both flowers and rare varieties of willow.
She has honed her weaving skills since falling in love with basketry on a course, 6 years ago, and is currently completing a City and Guilds qualification in basketry.
Initially, coordinating lantern parades and working with willow sculptors in both Sheffield and Frome for many years, Emily’s love for the tactile nature of willow seems obvious in retrospect.
She loves to craft functional, beautiful and sustainable items for the home and believes strongly in the therapeutic and community nature of craft.
